This is Baby Tyanne's first photo session with me. She was sleepy as she can be during the shoot. I can hardly wait to shoot her and Tyler together. Stay tuned for more!

Baby Tyanne - Our Little Angel

I hope you enjoyed watching the video. It sums up the birth of Tyanne.

The delivery shots were shot exclusively using a 35mm lens using Nikon D7000. It is an amazing camera in itself but I wish it could shoot 1080p at 60 fps. I originally intended to bring other lenses but since we were in a hurry, I was only able to bring the one that was attached to the camera. I'm a newbie in terms of video making and there are a lot of things that I wish I knew beforehand which would change the way I shoot.

I think the value of this video or of any captured moment, be it still or video, would be fully appreciated
as time passes when Tyanne can look back to that moment in time. This video is about a mother's love and what a mother would do for her child. I stand witness to what K had gone through.

Welcome, Baby Tyanne

We welcome Baby Tyanne to the world last Tuesday, May 17 at 10:30 p.m.

Everything happened so fast. I received a call from K at around 4 p.m. that day as she wanted to have the baby checked because she felt that the baby didn't move as much as she usually does. We were surprised to find out that her cervix was already open by 2 cm when she was checked. Our original plan was to have a scheduled c-section on May 21 due to some circumstances. Although we were still given the choice of trying for a normal delivery, we opted for the c-section to minimize the risk of repeating what had happened during her the last pregnancy.

K is very determined to breastfeed Tyanne from the very start. The operation started at 10 p.m., ended at around 11:30 p.m. and was roomed in at 2 a.m. I was surprised that she woke up at 6 a.m., stood up and went straight to the nursery to feed the baby. She showed what a mother's love would do for her child. I'm so proud of her.

We are glad that we are home now and is so happy to see how Tyler loves his little sister. God is great.

A couple has asked to me do some concept shots for their daughter, Nikki. I have thought of involving the family of three instead and work out on a family portrait for them. This is a fun family to shoot specially with their humor involved. I am happy they like the result.

Fishing at Home

Tyler and I have been playing with a magnetic fishing toy that looks like this. This led us to do a fishing at home shoot. We haven't found boots big enough or in this case, small enough to fit Tyler. Looks like his newbies book didn't teach him how to put a bait!

It has been over a year and a half since I was able to pick up a camera and shoot seriously. This is due to heavy work load on my day job. Now that we are expecting again, I'm glad we really have a good reason to get a camera!

The pregnancy test shot below is a bit too late for the size of the belly. But for the sake of documenting the event, this shot was made.
